Private Yoga Sessions: What to Expect
Private Yoga sessions are different from group classes. Private sessions are a true partnership between student and teacher, with each session being patiently cocreated.
Prior to our first meeting, I will send you a student intake form to help me plan safe and effective sessions. Are there any injuries I should be aware of? What is your goal for our sessions? How is your body feeling today? Have you practiced Yoga before? What did you like/dislike? All information is confidential. If you are not comfortable completing a form, I will be happy to contact you over the phone. Conversely, we can schedule extra time in our first session for an interview.
I take the information you offer to design a program to meet your unique needs and goals.
The practices will vary depending on the information I receive from you before, and during, our session. We might focus on balance, mobility, strengthening, flexibility, mindfulness, or a combination. Every element of the practice will be adapted to you.
Private sessions usually last between 75-90 minutes. At the end of each session, I’ll give you a handout to help you continue your practice at home. (Yoga homework.) When you are ready to schedule your next session, I will further refine and adapt your exercises and practices.
